From the market square the walk takes usa over fields and moorland via the disused Bare House;lfrom here we cross a land peppered with disused mineshafts to reach an ancient drovers road (Bycliffe Road); we dewscend to two limestone pavements which precede the fascinating Conistone Dib; passing through this narrow ice age ravine (weather permitting) we reach the village of Conistone; a lane takes us to the river and we return to Grassington on the banks of the Wharfe, passing Ghaistrill's Strid en route.

 A leisurely stroll from the top of Grassington's Main Street crossing fields and meadows to the pretty village of Hebden with its famous Old School tearoom; from here we descend and have a pleasant walk back to Grassington along the banks of the River Wharfe; a minor detour will take us to the majestic Linton Falls.

 This walk takes in one of the most picturesque riverside sections of the Dales way. From Grassington we drop down to the River Wharfe and follow the riverside path for just under two miles to Burnsall (refreshment stop). From there, through fields to Thorpe (several stiles) and stop for lunch. From Thorpe, mostly througfh fields to arrive in Linton (Pint?). From Linton back to Grassington through fields and via Linton Falls.
