From the market square the walk takes usa over fields and moorland via the disused Bare House;lfrom here we cross a land peppered with disused mineshafts to reach an ancient drovers road (Bycliffe Road); we dewscend to two limestone pavements which precede the fascinating Conistone Dib; passing through this narrow ice age ravine (weather permitting) we reach the village of Conistone; a lane takes us to the river and we return to Grassington on the banks of the Wharfe, passing Ghaistrill's Strid en route. |
