Brief Description

The route begins down Artist's Lane, through the woodland, fields and quiet lane to reach Hocker Lane. This broad lane is flanked by arable land and the edge of Alderley Park which is being developed for walkers. The cobbled Bradford Lane gently descends to Nether Alderley. We pass the historic Mill and take the path by the Church. Continuing through the village and ascending fields the walk goes towards the edge of Alderley village before entering woodland. Crossing over the road our route reaches Castle Rock with far reaching views across Cheshire. The Edge was part of an extensive oak forest that covered the county. We pass the Armada Beacon, the highest point of the Edge, also evidence of mining, the woodland path returns us to the car park.
