Brief Description

From the car park we climb steadily for just over a mile up The Street. At the top we turn left to walk along the ridge to Shining Tor. From there we drop down to Goytsclough Quarry via Deep Clough, the early part of the path being quite stony. From there we cross the old packhorse bridge, a short climb takes us on a path towards Errwood Reservoir and above the reservoir to Bunsal Cob at the bottom of the old railway incline which is now the road into the valley. Cross the dam and back to the car park. Depending on the rate of progress, weather, etc., on reaching Goytsclough Quarry,or before, the walk can be shortened to 7 or even 6 miles. The bulk of the climbing is in the early part of the walk.
