Brief Description

The walk starts at the main car park at Monsal Head. Car park £6, or park on the road towards Little Longstone for free. Meet on car park behind public toilets. Mostly on good tracks and field paths, very dry when reccied. One fairly steep climb of 400ft. which is a bit difficult in places, one descent of 300ft which is steep but not too difficult. Reccied with 10 year old who could have run it!! We take the path alongside the river to where it almost reaches the A6. Here we turn sharply right uphill to reach Brushfield Hough Farm, then on to the hamlet of Brushfield, through High Dale, Bulltor Lane. We then walk to Priestcliffe Lees and drop down to the Monsal Trail (old railway line). We then continue back to Monsal Head (2-2.5 miles) either wholly along the track, or we can drop down to the river and take the riverside path, or a combination of the two. Refreshments in/outside the Stable Bar at Monsal Head before we drive back.
