Brief Description

The walk is all on good paths, lanes/roads and canal towpath with one main gradual climb from the River Goyt up into Marple.We cross the Goyt and turn back on ourselves and follow the Goyt before we make our main gradual climb up through the woods to reach Marple Hall School, from where we pass through urban Marple along pleasant roads and old rights of way to reach the Peak Forest Canal which we follow passing over the Goyt Aqueduct. Continuing we reach Chadkirk Wood which we descend through to reach the historic Chadkirk Chapel parts of which date back to the 1500's. Open at 1pm at weekends will may be able take a refreshing cup of tea if the lovely lady volunteers are in attendance, before we return to our cars.
