Brief Description

From the car park in the centre of Rippondon we follow the old railway line into the Booth Dean valley to reach Rishworth Mill, now converted to apartments, from where we start our ascent to Pike End passing though the delightful hamlet of Godly with it's historic old church. We are now onto the open moor and we will be making a circumnavigation of the Dog Hill moorland plateau (Dog Hill's trig point optional) via Blackwood Edge Road (path) and Green Withins Edge, before swinging north and east following the drainage leets below Warm Withins Hill and Flint Hill before starting our decent to Grey Stone Height. Back now in farmland we drop down into the Ryburn valley and pass Ryland Reservoir before continuing through the Ryland valley back into Rippondon, passing the Old Bridge Inn which claims to be the oldest pub in Yorkshire.
