Pay and Display car park (£5.50) or park in the village close to the duck pond (free). We'll start the walk at the front of the Charles Cotton Hotel. Field tracks, uphill, to Sheen. From Sheen through fields via Slate House Farm, Lower Boothlow, Upper Boothlow to Crowdicote. We then take level field paths and a short climb to Pilsbury Castle (ruin). Further field paths with two short climbs and then gentle descent back to Hartington. Depending on the weather the week before, some parts may be muddy. There is one particularly steep descent where poles are strongly recommended.
